Our first coaching tele-conference Question & Answer call will be next Tuesday 28th August 2007 at 8pm.

Selling Grass to someone else.

We have had some people comparing  trading stock as opposed to selling their grass to someone else as agistment.

One trap that is easy to fall into is forgetting to subtract our overheads from the agistment rate that we are getting.

Remember if we have used the spreadsheet to examine a trade, the profit, is after we have accounted for our overheads as well, in the maintenance section of the sheet.

select Dynamic Calculators and fill in the work sheet No. 5 to convert your overheads to agistment.

Subtract this figure from the agistment rate you are being offered (by the person wishing to buy your grass) and this will give you a profit figure to compare to the livestock trade alternative.
